Proofs for recital and team awards

Before any dance award is engraved or printed, Encore Trophy Studio sends a proof: a drawing of each piece with the real routine title, dancer names and photo in position. The studio owner checks it against the final program while a correction is still just a reply away.

What should a studio owner check on a photo plaque proof?

Check that the photo is the right routine and the right cast, then read the roster in the same order the dancers stand. Confirm the routine title, the season and the caption. Make sure no name is covered by the image. Send all corrections together, quoting the proof version, so an earlier draft is never the one approved.

What goes wrong on a team photo plaque?

A competition team director orders a Dance Team Photo Plaque for each of twelve dancers. The photo is from picture day, in the costumes for Lanterns Over the Harbor. The first proof shows three problems the spreadsheet could not. The roster below the photo lists names alphabetically, but families expect the order to follow the line-up in the picture, left to right. A dancer who left the team in the winter is still in the photo, so the director chooses a later picture. And the caption, one stage, one team, sits in lower case in the file but the studio uses capitals on everything. All three are fixed in one reply, and the twelve plaques are made from the second proof.

Dance Team Photo Plaque

Choose whether the image shows costumes from one routine or the whole season's team. Use a caption that matches that photograph, and place any roster outside the image so faces remain unobstructed.

The details to personalize: team, routine, season, caption. The product page lets you enter them and carry the design into your quote request.

How should a studio run its proof review?

01

Read it against the program and the photo

Open the final printed program and the chosen photograph. Read each line aloud. Match roster order to the picture, check every routine title for the choreographer's spelling, and confirm the division is the one the routine actually entered.

02

Judge the size with a tape measure

The proof states dimensions. Mark them on the lobby wall or the dancer's shelf. A screen can make a small plate look generous, and it says nothing about whether the caption can be read from the hallway.

03

Ask about anything you cannot see

A proof cannot show how a photo prints on acrylic versus wood, or how colored acrylic catches stage light. If finish or print quality will decide the order, ask what physical reference exists before approving.

Questions about proofs for recital and team awards

What should a studio owner check on a photo plaque proof?

Check that the photo is the right routine and the right cast, then read the roster in the same order the dancers stand. Confirm the routine title, the season and the caption. Make sure no name is covered by the image. Send all corrections together, quoting the proof version, so an earlier draft is never the one approved.

Who at a studio should sign off the proof?

One person, agreed at the start, usually the studio owner or the competition director. Teachers and parents can comment, but their notes should be collected into one list before it is sent. Two approvers working from different drafts is how a routine title reverts to an earlier spelling.

What resolution does a photo need for a photo plaque?

Send the largest original the photographer supplied, not a copy downloaded from a group chat or a social post. A photo that looks sharp on a phone may still soften at plaque size, and a moving dancer needs more detail than a posed group. We tell you on the proof if the file is too small.

Can we change a name after the proof is approved?

Tell us immediately with the order reference and the exact change, such as a dancer who joined the team late. What can still be changed depends on how far production has gone. Encore Trophy Studio confirms the effect on cost and timing before making the change, and an added dancer is usually a new row.
