Dance trophy and recital award engraving
A dance result has more parts than most sports awards: the routine title, the style, the size category, the age division and the placing. Encore Trophy Studio engraves all of them on competition trophies and recital pieces, matching the marking method to the acrylic, metal or wood of the design.

How should routine titles and placings be sent for engraving?
Send Encore Trophy Studio a sheet with one row per piece: dancer or routine, routine title, style, division and placing, written exactly as the adjudication sheet or program shows them. Keep routine titles in their original capitalization and punctuation. Where a group routine earns one shared trophy, the row names the routine; where each dancer gets a piece, the row names the dancer.
What happens when one routine wins twice?
A regional competition director has a senior lyrical group that placed first in its category and also took the overall high score for its age division. That is two results, so it is two lines on the Dance Competition Trophy or two separate trophies, never one blended title. The plate reads the routine title, Lanterns Over the Harbor, then Senior Large Group Lyrical, then First Place. A second plate, or a second trophy, carries Senior Overall High Score. Style names are where orders go wrong. Lyrical, contemporary and modern are different categories on most entry forms, and a studio will notice if its lyrical piece is engraved as contemporary. We set the longest title in the weekend first and size every plate to match.

Follow the event's published category names when preparing inscriptions. Age division, style and overall placement are different distinctions; select the ones needed to identify the result without shrinking every line to fit.

How do results travel from the tabulator to the plate?
01
Choose what the family reads first
On a solo award that is the dancer, then the routine title. On a group trophy it is the routine, then the studio. Placing and division follow, with the event and year at the bottom. Say which order you want before we lay anything out.
02
Paste from the entry system
Copy routine titles and dancer names from the registration export rather than from a printed program, which may have been shortened to fit a column. Keep apostrophes, ampersands and capital letters as the choreographer entered them.
03
Proof each session on its own
The proof lists every line for every piece, grouped by session. Hand each session to the person who tabulated it. A correct morning session tells you nothing about a mistyped teen division in the afternoon.

Questions about dance trophy and recital award engraving
How should routine titles and placings be sent for engraving?
Send Encore Trophy Studio a sheet with one row per piece: dancer or routine, routine title, style, division and placing, written exactly as the adjudication sheet or program shows them. Keep routine titles in their original capitalization and punctuation. Where a group routine earns one shared trophy, the row names the routine; where each dancer gets a piece, the row names the dancer.
Can a long routine title be engraved in full?
Often, yes, by giving the title its own line or two and reducing the letter size a little. We would rather stack a title than cut words from it. If a title is very long, the proof shows the stacked version so the studio can judge it. Never abbreviate a routine title on your own; the choreographer chose it.
Do duets and trios get one trophy or one each?
That is the event's rule, not ours. Many competitions give one trophy per entry and let the studio decide who keeps it, while others order a piece per dancer. Tell Encore Trophy Studio which rule you follow, and we build the list with one row per physical piece so the proof and the count agree.
Can the studio logo be engraved beside the routine title?
Usually. A one-color version of the logo engraves most clearly on a metal plate or an acrylic face. Script lettering and thin flourishes, common in dance logos, can fill in at plate size. We check the logo at real dimensions first and suggest a simpler mark or a larger position if it will not hold.
